Charitable Donations
UPDATE: We will not be accepting anymore donation requests for 2020. Thank you for your interest in our program.
At LEO Pharma, we view our corporate giving as an opportunity for us to help improve patients, lives by filling unmet needs, to demonstrate our commitment to the communities we serve by building powerful collaborations, and to make an impact through meaningful investments in organizations, initiatives and causes that reflect the LEO Pharma mission, values and strategic focus. LEO Pharma is proud to have the privilege of providing charitable donations to various community and patient-related organizations. The term 'Charitable Donations' describes contribution requests that are used for purposes other than healthcare professional education initiatives. Charitable Donations may be cash, in kind or product donations (not available at this time). Currently, we consider the following applications for funding:
- General support of a 501 (c) (3) Charitable Organization (excluding operational or capital projects)
- Support of a 501 (c) (3) Charitable Organization's event
- Support of a 501 (c) (3) Charitable Organization's activities
The amount approved for funding is a result of the charitable donation review process. Funding amounts may be based on project/event budgets, fair market value, organizational geographic scope, and merits of the request. This may be of an equal or lesser amount than requested in the application.
How does LEO Pharma handle expenses that are part of a charitable contribution for which LEO Pharma receives some benefit? (e.g., Purchase of a table at a fund raising event)
LEO Pharma requires organizations to complete an Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 (OBRA) form. This form documents the amount of the contribution that can truly be considered charitable versus a portion of the amount that represents payments for expenses by the organization for which LEO Pharma receives some benefit (i.e., business expenses).
Are the volume of requests and the number of approvals generally consistent over the course of a calendar year?
The number of charitable donation requests LEO Pharma receives varies throughout the year. The quantity, timing, and nature of requests are determined by the needs of the organizations submitting proposals to LEO Pharma which is determined by the requestors needs. In addition, changes in the availability of LEO Pharma funds affect the volume and dollars available for contributions.
If your request is accepted, LEO Pharma reserves the right to post on a website, accessible to the public, information regarding funding under the required Charitable Donation Agreement [whether or not required by law], including the identity of the recipient, the monetary value of the funding, and the purposes for such funding, and other information as the Company determines is appropriate.
Charitable Donations are reviewed through a rigorous review process. Processes have been designed and implemented so that no single individual may authorize charitable donations alone.
Who may apply for Charitable Donations?
